Carin Cochran
Carin is the Director and founder of Christian Challenge at FHSU. She moved to Hays in 1994 from Oklahoma after completing her Masters Degree and spending two years on Staff with a collegiate ministry there. She loves Jesus and wants students to learn to love Him and His Word. She really enjoys her most-handsome nephew, her crazy cats, traveling to cool places, and the Oklahoma State University Cowboys.
Cameron Brandenburg
Cameron has been on staff with Christian Challenge since August of 2013. He has a Bachelors degree in Music Technology from FHSU and joined staff after graduation. Cameron leads the worship team and organizes our Tuesday night services. He enjoys using music and creativity to help people connect with Christ, and working with students as they discover their role in Kingdom ministry. He and his wife Tessa were both involved in Challenge as students at Fort Hays, and are excited for the opportunity to continue the ministry for future generations of university students.
Sarah Stackhouse
Sarah was raised on a farm in Northwest Kansas and graduated from FHSU in December 2011 with a degree in accounting. Her role on staff is Office Manager. She disciples women and invests in the lives of students on the leadership team. She enjoys spending time with her husband Brian and their friends, cooking, working on some Pinterest project, and enjoying nature! College ministry and especially Christian Challenge has a special place in her heart as this is where she came to have and grow in her relationship with Jesus! She and Brian see how pivotal college years are for spiritual growth and want to help students during this time in their lives.
Tarah Myers
Tarah is from Southeast Kansas and graduated from FHSU in May of 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and a minor in Sociology. She joined the staff team in the summer of 2025. Her role on staff is overseeing our small group bible studies and developing student leaders as they guide those groups. Tarah enjoys spending time with her husband Lincoln, cooking & baking, engaging in creative pursuits through music and art, and her plants (lots of plants). Christian Challenge and college ministry have a special place in Tarah’s heart. She has a passion for students to know God, to love him, and to allow that to influence and change their lives.
Big Leadership Team
God has blessed our staff team with committed college students who desire to see their peers experience transformation through the gospel. Our staff may be limited at times, but our students sure aren’t! They live on the mission field at FHSU and sacrifice much of their time leading small groups, connecting with students, and leading in different areas of our organization. Year after year God raises up new laborers for His Kingdom, and we get to be apart of that in a very special way. We love our BLT!
